Love Without Borders USA Certified to Verify President’s Volunteer Service Awards, Expanding Opportunities for Young Volunteers

Princeton, New Jersey | April 27, 2024

As the nation increasingly calls upon young people to take a leading role in community service, Love Without Borders USA, a youth-founded nonprofit, has been officially certified by the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) program to verify and nominate volunteers for presidential recognition.

The certification, granted last year, enables Love Without Borders USA to track, validate, and submit eligible volunteer service hours for formal acknowledgment through one of the United States’ most prestigious volunteer honors.

By becoming a certifying organization, Love Without Borders USA strengthens its ability to support students and community members seeking national recognition for their civic engagement and social impact.

The President’s Volunteer Service Award, established in 2003, honors Americans who demonstrate a sustained commitment to volunteer service. It is administered by AmeriCorps and managed in collaboration with Points of Light, the world’s largest organization dedicated to volunteer service.

“We are honored to serve as a certifying organization for the PVSA,” said Sean Xu, founder of Love Without Borders USA. “This recognition allows us to formally celebrate the contributions of our volunteers, many of whom are students striving to create real change in their communities. It reinforces our commitment to empowering young leaders through service.”

Founded by a group of student advocates, Love Without Borders USA has engaged hundreds of volunteers in initiatives supporting autism inclusion, global disability advocacy, and educational access. Through its work, the organization has sought to remove barriers to participation and foster a culture of empathy, resilience, and social responsibility among youth.

Certification as a PVSA certifying organization comes as part of a broader national push to formalize and encourage volunteerism among younger generations. According to a 2024 AmeriCorps report, youth volunteer rates have risen sharply in the post-pandemic years, with students contributing more than 1.5 billion hours of service annually.

By securing PVSA certification, Love Without Borders USA aims to expand volunteer opportunities, incentivize sustained civic participation, and ensure that the efforts of young changemakers are recognized at the highest levels.
